Behind its beautiful original 17th-century town-house façade, the Crown is a thoroughly 21st-century inn. Stylish and modern, the en suite rooms have been individually decorated by award-winning interior designers Bentheim of Chelsea. Each room has a plasma flat-screen TV with Sky satellite channels and a DVD player.

The beds boast plump goose-down pillows, luxurious mattresses, crisp cotton bed linen and Italian lighting. The bathrooms have under-floor heating and French organic toiletries.

The restaurant offers superb, award-winning cuisine, made with the finest, freshest seasonal produce available locally.

The Crown is situated in the heart of Woodbridge, in East Suffolk. A fine old market town, Woodbridge is an atmospheric blend of the fashionable and the age-old, with modern cafes, smart boutiques and trendy wine bars sitting next to traditional old shops.

There is a picturesque river walk 500 metres from the hotel. The Suffolk countryside has many places of interest, including the Sutton Hoo Anglo Saxon burial site, Minsmere Bird Reserve, Snape Maltings and the Aldeburgh Festival. Woodbridge is close to the river Deben where the Woodbridge tide mill can be found, and boat trips are also available.
