With a magnificent location, looking out over the harbour and the River Dart, right in the heart of Dartmouth, this 17th-century building offers bright, airy rooms, free Wi-Fi and a stylish restaurant.

Privately owned, the award-winning Royal Castle Hotel has a great location, in the centre of the pretty town of Dartmouth, with its cobbled streets, intriguing shops and world-famous restaurants and bars.

There are 25 en suite rooms, all of which are unique and individually decorated. Many of the rooms have river views, four-poster beds and spa baths. Every room has a TV, radio and tea/coffee making facilities.

With wonderful views out over the river, Nu is the hotel’s stylish and relaxed restaurant. The restaurant offers delicious food made from the best, freshest produce available locally.

The hotel also has 2 bars: the contemporary Harbour bar and the more traditional Galleon bar. Both bars have real open log fires burning in the winter.

Dartmouth is a unique town full of old narrow streets with boutique shops, art galleries and delicatessens. The surrounding countryside and the coastline mean that the area has a wide variety of activities to offer, including sailing, fishing and boat tours. You could visit the town at festival time or take the steam train to Paignton. Dartmouth Castle, the Britannia Royal Naval College and many National Trust Gardens are all within easy reach. You could also walk the famous South West Coast Path or, if all that sounds a bit too active, you could simply laze on the area’s beautiful clean beaches.

Please note that all bedrooms start on the second floor and that, unfortunately, the hotel does not have a lift.

The Royal Castle Hotel has 2 types of rooms: river view and non river view. Where possible, the hotel will upgrade you to a river view room at no extra cost.
