Situated on the outskirts of picturesque Barnard Castle, this former working farm, with animals still in the fields, has been turned into a contemporary, unique and quirky hotel.

Owner-run for over 36 years, it has been transformed from a humble farm into an internationally renowned hotel where high attention to detail is mixed with friendly style to ensure a memorable stay.

Nestled within 10 acres of farmland, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, during your stay you can relax watching the animals graze the fields and let life stroll on by.

Teesdale is a still a relatively undiscovered part of England, boasting some fascinating attractions: Bowes Museum in its wonderful setting, the unspoilt Raby Castle, the Dales and Britain’s highest waterfall, High Force.

Jump in the car and travel less than an hour to find the cathedral city of Durham and Beamish Open Air Museum. Visit the Lake District, or Europe’s largest indoor shopping complex, the Metro Centre.

There are many challenging country golf courses, along with the excellent country course at Barnard Castle. There is horse racing at Redcar, Sedgefield, Thirsk, Catterick, York and Newcastle. You may, however, be content exploring the beautiful scenic countryside that surrounds The Jersey Farm Country Hotel.

After a warm welcome you can explore the curious decor and original art. Step into the calm and chilled bar before heading on through to the conservatory, complete with a pool table and large plasma, and then onto the scenic terrace. Enjoy peace and quiet and maybe a board game in the residents lounge. The hotel even has its our own art gallery, Galleranna, where you can find a souvenir to remember your time with here.

The Barn suite is a unique large function venue catering for weddings, conference, parties and gatherings.

The rooms are an eclectic mix; all are non-smoking and every room is different and individual. All have harmonious colour schemes with a light, fresh modern feel about them.

Some rooms and suites are on the ground floor.

Pets are accepted by prior arrangement in certain rooms (charges apply).

For the business traveller, all rooms have well-lit desks with modem points at hand. Wi-Fi is available in the hotel free of charge. Photocopying and faxing facilities are available at reception.
