Preston Mill (6.6 miles / 10.6 km) - situated on the River Tyne in nearby East Linton, this is one of the oldest mechanically working mills in Scotland. The nearby mill pond is home to various ducks and geese.
Tantallon Castle (10 miles / 16 km) - an imposing 14th century castle, now a partial ruin since an attack by Cromwell's army in 1651. Situated on a rocky headland surrounded by high cliffs, the site offers northerly views of the sea-bird colony on Bass Rock.
Built in 1854 the hotel is a traditional Victorian villa in the centre of the busy town of Dunbar. It has 16 en suite rooms, all of which are comfortable furnished and have either a king-size or standard double bed. The Lighthouse restaurant opened in October 2007 serving a range of dishes using fresh local produce. The Veranda bar has a comfortable local atmosphere offering a wide range of beers, wines and spirits including over 30 malt whiskeys.
