Hotel Hanzestadlogement is situated in a historical building dating back to 1645 and is located in the centre of the historical Hanseatic city Deventer along the IJssel.
When you enter the hotel, the atmosphere reminds you of grandmother?s days. You will be checked in with a cup of coffee or tea and a piece of Deventer cake. Also during your stay, you will enjoy this warm hospitality.
It's a cosy and small family hotel with a tea and coffee house. There is a shop in the hotel where you can buy all sorts of products from different Hanseatic towns of Europe. For example Deventer koek (spiced cookies), coffee and mustard from Deventer, tea from Zutphen, honey and candy from Hamburg, marzipan from L?beck, sweets from Helsingborg, chocolate from Brussels and marmalade from Copenhagen. Behind the shop is a Hanze-museum, with wooden malls to make Dutch biscuits, coffee mills, chocolate malls and an old bakery where lots of Dutch candy is sold.
All nine rooms and one family-appartment are furnished differently. Every room is named after a Hanseatic city. Route and Parking
By Car: Navigation: Binnensingel number 6, Deventer
- On the A1 take the exit to Deventer/Zutphen.
- At the traffic lights drive towards Deventer and follow the signs to the centre.
- After the S-bend drive through the inner harbour and then turn left at the traffic lights (Pothoofd) and follow the road along the river and go straight on under the bridge (traffic lights).
- At the 2nd set of traffic lights turn right (Van Twickelostraat).
- Cross 2 crossings and then enter the Noorderbergpoortgarage parking garage on the first floor or the cellar. NOT AT THE GROUND FLOOR!
- At the barrier you get an entrance ticket which you have to keep with you. The hotel sells exit tickets at a reduced tariff.
- At the pedestrian exit you turn left to the Gibsonstraat, which leads to the Nieuwstraat.
- The hotel is situated on the right at number 25, at the entrance of the tea and coffee house (the Nieuwstraat is a pedestrian zone. The hotel is about 3 minutes walk from the garage).
Parking:
During your whole stay your car can be parked in a covered "Noorderbergpoortgarage" car park.
By Public Transport:
- From the Deventer railway station cross the street to the Singelstraat, which become the Sijzenbaanplein, Achter de Broederen and Engestraat.
- At the end of this street turn right to the Nieuwstraat.
- At the tea and coffee house on the left at number 25 you will find the hotel.
