Its name comes from the Semitic root KAR that means city, probably related to its possible Phoenician foundation. The romans called it Carmo, and the arabs Qarmuna.
  The Rincon de las Descalzas is situated in the Historical Centre of Carmona, close to the Santa Maria de Gracia Church, a beautiful Gothic example, with many Chapels and nice works in precious metals.
